Soft Style. Serious Performance
Nothing transforms a room like the flow of premium drapery. In Singapore’s high-rise landscape, curtains do more than just look good—they act as an acoustic buffer against city noise and a thermal shield against the tropical heat.
At Ecohaus, we curate fabrics that bring a “Boutique Hotel” feel right into your living room or bedroom, tailored to the exact dimensions of your space.
Our Signature Collections

The Soft Glow | Day Curtains (Sheer)
Perfect for living rooms. These elegant, translucent fabrics filter the harsh Singaporean sun into a soft, cinematic glow. They provide daytime privacy without making your home feel dark or enclosed.

Rest & Relax | Night Curtains (Dimout)
Offering 70–95% light blockage, our Night Curtains are the “all-rounders.” They create a cozy, intimate atmosphere for evenings.
Insider Tip: Choosing a darker fabric color will naturally push that light blockage toward the higher end of the scale.

Total Sanctuary | Blackout Curtains (Foam-backed)
The gold standard for shift workers, nurseries, and home theatres. These curtains feature a specialized foam backing that blocks 100% of light and acts as a heavy-duty heat barrier. If you want to forget the sun exists, this is your collection.
Questions?
1. Curtains or Blinds?
It entirely comes down to the overall “vibe” and layout of your room! Choose Curtains if you want to soften a room’s sharp edges, help block out echoing noises, and bring in that gorgeous, high-end boutique hotel look. On the flip side, go for Blinds if you are a little tight on space or love a clean, sharp, and minimalist line.
2. What is the difference between day and night curtains?
Think of it simply as Sunscreen vs. A Total Shield:
- Day Curtains: These are beautifully sheer, lightweight fabrics. They act like a soft light filter, turning harsh, blinding Singapore glare into a warm, cozy glow while giving you great daytime privacy from the opposite blocks.
- Night Curtains: These use much heavier, solid fabrics. They are specifically designed to completely block out the outside world, secure your nighttime privacy, and set up a super cozy, dark environment for a great night’s sleep.
3. Are blackout curtains really necessary for bedrooms?
If you value your sleep or work irregular night shifts—absolutely. Our 100% Blackout curtains are the absolute gold standard for master bedrooms and nurseries. By blocking out every single drop of external street lighting or early morning sun, they instantly tell your brain that it’s time to switch off and sleep deeply.
4. Do curtains really block the heat?
Yes—especially our Foam-Backed Blackout range. When the sun beats down on your glass windows all day, it creates a mini greenhouse effect inside. Our premium fabric features a specialized backing that acts like an insulating wall, trapping that intense heat right at the glass so your air-con can cool your room down significantly faster.
5. Can people see through my sheer curtains?
During the daytime, nope! You can see outside clearly, but because it’s much brighter outside than it is inside, the sheer mesh creates a great private screen. Just keep in mind: at night, if your indoor lights are fully switched on and it’s pitch black outside, the effect flips around. That’s when your solid Night curtains come into play!
6. What curtain colors are trending right now?
Singapore homeowners are absolutely loving a timeless, airy palette right now. Neutral tones like soft whites, warm beiges, muted greys, and organic earth tones are incredibly popular because they make compact HDB or Condo layouts feel double their actual size!
7. How often do they need a wash?
For most standard homes, giving them a good refresh every 6 to 12 months is perfect. If anyone in your household suffers from bad dust mite allergies, scaling that up to once a quarter will keep the air quality in your rooms perfectly fresh.
8. Can I just throw them in my home washing machine?
- Day & Night Curtains: Yes, you can easily machine wash these on a gentle cycle. Just skip the spin cycle entirely and hang them back up on the tracks while they’re still damp. The natural weight of the damp fabric will pull out any creases, saving you from a painful ironing session!
- Blackout Curtains (Foam-Backed): ever throw these into a washing machine. The tumbling and spinning action can easily crack and ruin that special thermal backing. Always send these out for a professional dry cleaning.
9. Is dry cleaning really mandatory for high-end drapes?
For premium linen blends or blackout-coated fabrics, yes. Standard home washing machines can cause dramatic shrinkage or warp the delicate weave. Treat your premium curtains like a bespoke custom suit—dry cleaning protects the material and ensures they sit perfectly for a decade.
10. Can curtains make a room look bigger?
This is the ultimate Interior Designer hack! By mounting your curtains floor-to-ceiling (rather than just right above the window frame) and choosing light colors, you visually elongate your walls. It draws the eye upward, making a standard 2.6m HDB ceiling feel dramatically higher and grander.
11. Can I hide my curtain tracks?
You definitely can! You’ll just want to coordinate with your interior designer or contractor early in your renovation to build a false ceiling pelmet (also known as a curtain cove). This is a clever recessed pocket in the ceiling that hides the tracks and rollers completely out of sight, making the fabric look like it is cascading beautifully right out of the ceiling itself.
12. Exactly how much space do I need to allocate for a curtain pelmet?
Depending on the style you pick, here are the pocket widths you’ll need to prepare:
- Manual Double Pleated Curtains: You’ll need a box depth of at least 2 inches for a single layer, and at least 4 inches if you are layering Day and Night curtains together.
- Motorised Double Pleated Curtains: Motor tracks need a bit more breathing room. Plan for at least 3 inches for a single layer and at least 6 inches for a double layer.
- Manual S-Fold (Ripple Fold) Curtains: Because those elegant S-waves ripple outward quite a bit, you need a much wider pocket—at least 5 inches for a single layer and a generous 10 inches for a double layer.
- Motorised S-Fold (Ripple Fold) Curtains: To hold both the fluid fabric folds and the smart motor smoothly, your ceiling pocket needs to be at least 6 inches wide for a single layer and at least 11 inches wide for a double layer setup.
13. How long does it take to make the curtain?
Because every single panel is sliced, hemmed, and weighted exactly to your home’s unique millimetre dimensions, crafting them beautifully typically takes 2 to 3 weeks from the day we take our final site measurements.
14. How do I choose the right curtain fabric?
Start by asking what the room is for! Is it a home office where you need to stop screen glare but still want natural light? Go for a sheer day layer. Is it a home theater room or a master bedroom? Prioritize dense, foam-backed solids. Once you know what you need the room to do, we’ll bring down all the textures and weights to perfectly match your interior layout during our consultation!
